Gaming News: SimCity Gets Mods with Restrictions; Rambo the Video Game Trailer; Valve to Join VR Possibilities?
Modding in "SimCity" is now going to be an official act, as long as players follow the guidelines set by publisher EA.
"We're so excited to see the new ground many of you are breaking with SimCity Modding that we wanted to do something that would make it easier for you to continue to create amazing stuff," said the SimCity Development Team in a recent blog post.
"We're putting this policy in place to ensure that our guidelines on Modding are clear and that all of our players get to enjoy SimCity their own way while also maintaining the safety and integrity of the SimCity experience," the dev team added.
The rules are pretty much standard, with emphasis on not infringing copyright or from any third party, not including offensive and obscene content, not modifying any executable files, and, of course, reserving for EA the right to revoke permission to use, distribute or make mods.
Also, those who are looking to sell their Mods will be disappointed, as they are supposed to be distributed for free. However, EA does have rules for those who want to request for donations in the creation of the mod.

In an interview with PlayStation Blog Europe, it was revealed that gamers will now get the chance to check out the action and the story of "First Blood," "Rambo: First Blood Part II" and "Rambo III" on video game.
*Did you know that there are a lot of berries and berry mutations that you can find and grow in "Pokemon X and Y"? Here's a quick guide to knowing your berries in the game.
"We want Rambo The Video Game to give players the chance to take-on the classic scenes from the motion-picture trilogy through John Rambo's eyes," said Piotr Latocha, producer at Teyon, to PlayStation Blog Europe. "And just as John Rambo was an expert infiltrator--not every mission will be based around pure shooting skills: silent bow takedowns and perfectly timed stealth (lethal or nonlethal) eliminations will be required too," he added.
The gameplay presents Rambo in an arcade-type shooter game that can go on a rampage of weapons and action. All of the well known weapons of John Rambo, from knives and grenades, to arrows and LMGs can also be activated via the PlayStation Move, which will allow players to really feel the action firsthand.
Mr Latocha also said that there will be DLCs after the release of the game, while those in Europe can enjoy exclusive hand-painted John Rambo figurines, which come with the game.

Valve to Create VR SDK?
Valve's most recent surprise had been the introduction of Steam Machines, which are said to be closely competing with the next-gen consoles PS4 and Xbox One.
However, just like Sony, it seems that Valve may also be dabbling into virtual reality gadgets, which may be complementary technology to the upcoming Steam Machines.
According to AusGamers, there already seems to be development for VR technology that has been done alongside the Steam Machines because the company may already be close to releasing its own VR development kit for game developers. This new software dev kit may provide a standardised way to make an interface for VR controllers and may debut as early as Jan 14 and 15 during Steam Dev Days.
"There's also technology in development at Valve based around head-tracking and headset manufacture and design," said Brian Coomer, designer at Valve, in an interview quoted by AusGamers. "We are working with other companies right now but we have not made any specific announcements," Mr Coomer added.
It may be that Valve will partner with third party manufacturers with this development, similar to how they dealt with Steam Machines. There's also a possibility that Oculus Rift may be one of these partners, though they will announce more in the coming days.
