It seems "The Young and the Restless" (Y&R) stars' next stop is ABC's "General Hospital." According to the latest update Michael Muhney may soon be returning to daytime soap opera scene. The actor known for his "Y&R" character Adam Newman is again creating a buzz in the media. Reports suggest that after Billy Miller he could be the next one to join the cast of "General Hospital" (GH).

Ever since Michael Muhney exited from "The Young and the Restless," fans of the star have been wondering what's next for him. On several occasions it was thought that Michael Muhney would make a surprise comeback to CBS' long-running daytime soap opera as his well-loved character Adam Newman. Rumours about him taking over Steve Burton's Jason Morgan role (General Hospital) were also running rampant. But according to Examiner, he could be joining "General Hospital" but not as Jason Morgan, instead as A.J. Quartermaine.

A.J. Quartermaine was earlier portrayed by Sean Kannan and Billy Warlock. But the character has been absent for most part of this decade after Sean Kannan left the show. A.J. is the son of Drs Alan and Monica Quartermaine and was last seen when he was shot by Sonny Corinthos.

While fans thought he is dead, blog Gossip Chick reports that "he is alive and has Michael Muhney been cast in the role on 'General Hospital.'"

The author of the blog wrote: "Gossip Chick Central was buzzing all weekend with emails and a couple of phone calls, nothing we can confirm 100% -- but it seems the General Hospital casting department is having a blast with all the different casting rumors out there involving two former Y&R cast members. And this is the latest one, but mind you, we aren't confirming this 100%.....yet. But we're just as hopeful as you are!"

There has been no official confirmation from either "General Hospital" or Michael Muhney. When Michael Muhney was last seen as Adam Newman on "The Young and the Restless," he was thought to be dead in the explosive car crash that also involved Billy Miller's Billy Abbott.

Speaking of Billy Miller, the actor recently bagged a Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series for playing iconic Billy Abbott. After his exit from "The Young and the Restless" it is said that the actor is set to bring back "General Hospital's" iconic character Jason Morgan. The character that was portrayed by Steven Burton for 21 years will be taken over by Billy Miller, if the rumours are true. There is no official confirmation for the same. But with Kimberly McCollough returning to the show as Robin, fans can also expect the return of Jason Morgan.

If Michael Muhney and Billy Miller join the cast of "General Hospital," it will be a third major cast switch between the two shows in recent times. Recently, "The Young and the Restles" (Y&R) star Michelle Stafford (Phyllis Summers) joined "GH" as Nina Clay and she is apparently doing a great job. Do you think Michael Muhney and Billy Miller will be great additions to the cast of "General Hospital?" Would you like to see them as A.J. Quartermaine and Jason Morgan, respectively?
