'General Hospital' spoilers for Jan. 4, 2017: Valentin reassures Nina about Claudette; Dr Finn's recovery comes at a cost; Franco wants to clear his name

As the year starts, the cast of “General Hospital” is in for new challenges coming their way. Spoilers reveal that although blessings were plenty last Christmas, things will not always be as smooth.

On Tuesday, January 4, Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) will reassure Nina Reeves (Michelle Stafford) about Claudette (Bree Williamson). Dr. Hamilton Finn’s (Michael Easton) recovery will come at a cost. Franco (Roger Howarth) gets determined to clear out his name.

Nina will spend her first night as Mrs. Cassadine with her husband. She wants to help Valentin keep Charlotte, but she also falls hard for him.

There will be some questions about Claudette’s fate when Nathan West (Ryan Paevery) and Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) must find her to finalize his divorce. Nina will be worried, but Valentin will keep reassuring her that Claudette is in good hands.

As for Hamilton Finn, Soaps She Knows says that he will be okay soon. However, his recovery will come with a catch. Whether Brad Cooper (Parry Shen) helped him out, or if he would get in trouble for using the unlicensed medicines for Hayden Barnes (Rebecca Buddig) will be known soon.

As for Franco, he will want Liz Webber (Rebecca Herbst) to believe that he did not kill Tom Baker (Don Harvey) and he will work to clear his name. He will discover some information about Alexis from the night Tom was killed and this could work to exonerate him. However, since he has already hurt Sam so much, he will be hesitant to expose Alexis Davis (Nancy Graham) but will suspect that she could have possibly hurt Tom. Alexis was too drunk that night to recall anything that she had done or when she went, but she is not a suspect in the killing.

This upcoming episode of “General Hospital” will air on January 4 at 1:00 pm. on ABC Daytime.
