‘Geordie Shore’ star Gaz Beadle is refused entry in New Zealand, ordered to return to Australia
The rambunctious “Geordie Shore” bunch is best known for giving life to any party, but one cast member was literally stopped from joining one.
Controversial reality TV star Gary “Gaz” Beadle was on his way to New Zealand on Tuesday to appear at The Edge’s One Night Stand Party in Auckland, but he was reportedly banned from crossing the border. He was also ordered to fly back to Australia, where he has been staying for a few days.
On his Twitter account, Gaz shared a photo from his plane window while he was on his way to New Zealand. He simply captioned it “NZ” with heart-shaped eyes emoji. Gaz was supposed to appear at the party with “Geordie Shore” newbie Marty McKenna, who seemed to have proceeded to New Zealand. The Edge posted Marty’s picture on Twitter, with the caption, “Looks like @Marty_GShore came more than prepped for Queenstown's weather.”
Immigration New Zealand, or INZ, confirmed that Gaz was banned from entering New Zealand, according to a report by the Daily Star. “There are certain conditions that all temporary visitors to New Zealand must meet in order to be eligible for entry,” INZ told the web site. “The onus is on the visitor to satisfy INZ that they meet all of the entry requirements at the time they travel to New Zealand.”
Apparently, Gaz did not meet these requirements, INZ said. “He was put on a flight back to Australia [on Wednesday] afternoon after being released on conditions which allowed him to spend [Tuesday] night at his pre-arranged accommodation,” INZ shared.
Despite the incident, the show must go on, according to event’s organisers. “The Edge One Night Stand Party will still be going ahead no matter what, with Marty from Geordie Shore, performances from Savage & Kings, hosted by Jay-Jay, Dom & Randell, Guy, Sharyn and Clint and all The Edge crew,” they told Daily Star.
Gaz has kept mum about the incident, but it looks like he’ll recount his experience on his next column in Daily Star. “@Daily_Star column is going to be SOOO easy this week. [Be] done soon just time difference f---ing it up,” he wrote with an emoji of a peace sign. His most recent column made social media noise after he bashed “Celebrity Big Brother” housemates, including his “Geordie Shore” co-star Marnie Simpson.
