George Clooney 'Selfish Motive' Behind Amal Alamuddin Engagement - Reports
George Clooney is reported to get into a relationship with Amal Alamuddin for some ulterior motives. The Stir reported the actor has always had interest in politics and he might be running for governor of California.
As per Life & Style (via The Stir) magazine reports, Clooney is a serious contender for governor of California.
"Democrats are looking for the perfect successor to the current Gov. Jerry Brown, and George is interested. He has it all. He's a handsome movie star with a social conscience who has used his fame for human-rights causes," a source reported to the magazine.
It also being reported that though Clooney loves Amal he is planning to get married because the Democratic Party is impressed his act of being more responsible by taking the step of marriage.
"They are thrilled George is going to be married because they think a married George will be taken a whole lot more seriously than perpetual-bachelor George," the source further told the magazine.
Clooney proposed to Amal on April 22 over a meal which he cooked himself.
According to Page Six reports, "George cooked a meal himself for Amal at home on April 22, then he surprised her by getting down on bended knee and presenting her with the ring. He was so happy she accepted, he was calling friends with the news later that night."
The couple has been together since last year and it was speculated that they will get married in fall this year.
"It's only four months away but they want to get married at the end of the summer, in early September, before Amal returns to work," the source noted.
Amal and Clooney have not given any official statement with regard to their relationship. The couple was rumored to have invited many friends, including Brad Pitt, Jennifer Aniston and Angelina Jolie to their wedding.
