The upcoming movie "Ant-Man" may already have a fan in George R. R. Martin, the author of the book series "A Song of Ice and Fire." The popular TV show "Game of Thrones" is based on this book series.

In a post on the official blog, author George R. R. Martin said that he has been waiting for the movie "Ant-Man" for a long time. The movie has reportedly been worked on since 2006. Edgar Wright, the man who proposed the idea for the project has since then dropped out of the movie.

Edgar Wright is reported to have dropped out because of "creative differences" with Marvel on the "Ant-Man" movie. In 2006 the movies "Iron Man" and "The Avengers" were still not released, but now in 2014 the script of the movie may need to accommodate all that has happened in the Marvel universe.

Comic book fans will remember that "Ant-Man" along with The Wasp, Iron Man and Thor were the founding member of the original Avengers. The Marvel movies however did not portray them to be the founding members.

George R. R. Martin said that he was "outraged" that "Ant-Man" and The Wasp were replaced with Hawkeye and Black Widow in "The Avengers" movies. He said that he was looking forward for the movie, which is set to be released in 2015.

For all the "Ant-Man" fans who can't wait till 2015, George R. R. Martin proposed an alternative, the Danish superhero movie "Ant-Boy." The Jean Cocteau movie tells the story of a boy turned super hero who takes on the super villain - The Flea.

The story of "Ant-Man" revolves around the biochemist Dr. Hank Pym, his discovery of a size altering formula helps him to communicate with and control insects. The movie was said to have picked up some pace until Edgar Wright's departure.

The reported cast for "Ant-Man" includes Michael Douglas, Patrick Wilson, Michael Pena, Evangeline Lilly, Corey Stoll and Matt Gerald. The role of the super hero will be played by Paul Rudd. The movie will be released on 17 July, 2015 in the U.S., UK and Sweden.
