Georges St. Pierre Tested Negative Regarding the Use of Performance-Enhancing Drugs, St. Pierre to Retire Soon
Canadian mixed martial artist Georges St. Pierre was tested negative regarding the use of performance-enhancing drugs.
St. Pierre revealed the results of his drug test results on the popular social media Web sites Facebook and Twitter on Thursday.
"I have been through three spontaneous anti-doping controls by The Voluntary Anti-Doping Association (VADA) since Sept. 1," St. Pierre wrote on Facebook. "In each case, my blood and urine samples have been analysed by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA)-accredited UCLA Olympic Analytical Lab, and here are the results," he added.
St. Pierre is such a great fighter who brings integrity in a great sport like mixed martial arts. He is set to fight Johny Hendricks on Nov. 16 for the UFC 167 in Las Vegas. Hendricks is an American mixed martial artist, who currently ranks as the no. 1 Welterweight contender in the world, as reported the official website of Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).
However, how true is it that St. Pierre will retire after the said bout with Hendricks?
St. Pierre's head trainer Firas Zahabi confirmed the rumour. "George told me that he will continue for another training camp if he still has the motivation, or else, he will quit," said Zahabi. "You have to have motivation, it is the most significant thing," added Zahabi. "George has been motivated for this training camp, and he trains very well," Zahabi said.
It looks like St. Pierre is definitely enjoying his training camp for the UFC 167, so he probably won't be quitting soon. "My UFC 167 Training Camp has been one of the best ever," St. Pierre tweeted on Wednesday.
St. Pierre started fighting in 2002. He has been active in the mixed martial arts industry for more than a decade now. However, at 32, he still fights at the highest level. He has only lost twice all throughout his career. He has an eleven-fight winning streak as of present time.
