A flight companion, another French actor handed the bottle Gerard Depardieu urinated into while onboard the plane. Edouard Baer, who accompanied Depardieu on the Air France flight from France to Dublin.

Baer issued a statement defending Depardieu and insisted that it was not his fault why he had to go minutes before the plane taxied on the ground. He emphasized that the thespian even offered to clean up the mess himself after reportedly peeing on the plane carpet.

According to NineMSN.com.au, Baer is saying that Depardieu has prostate problems and holding “it” would not be a good idea. This is why his flight companion offered him the bottle.

Depardieu’s friend also insisted that the “Green Card” actor was “stone-cold sober” when the peeing incident took place. Co-passengers however maintained that the 62-year-old French actor was “intoxicated”.

"Gerard was upset at this and offered to clean up the mess," Baer said in the statement, according to NineMSN.com.au

"He has prostate problems and it was very worrying and humiliating for him. He was also stone-cold sober at the time. This is not the way he usually behaves."
