German TV to Air a Documentary on Michael Schumacher’s ‘Heaviest Battle’

It is hard to imagine how quiet it has been about the seven-time world champion Michael Schumacher, who remains in a coma following his skiing crash in December. Schumacher's supporters and former colleagues can only hope and continue to express their well-wishes for the Formula One (F1) racing legend. A new report say that a 30-minute documentary about Schumacher will be aired by German television network RTL on June 8.

According to News.de via online translation, RTL will broadcast the Canadian Grand Prix live on June 8. Following the race, a 30-minute TV documentary titled "Michael Schumacher's Heaviest Battle" will be aired, giving viewers an "insight" of Schumacher's coma condition as he continues to fight for his life after the skiing accident in Meribel five months ago.

Former racing manager Willi Weber and tennis legend Boris Becker will reportedly share their thoughts in the said half-hour documentary.

"The health of former Formula 1 World Champion is going to be discussed in the TV documentary," the Web site wrote.

Recently, neurosurgeon Dr. Didier Martin told Sudinfo.be that Schumacher's health will either get better or get worse. Dr. Martin works as the chief neurosurgeon for CHU Liege. "When a patient is in a prolonged coma, two possibilities exist," he said. "Either there is a deterioration, or there is a positive development."

According to the doctor, it will take a long time for Schumacher to completely recover even if he had exhibited progress now. "If there is progress, it is done over months, not days."
