American NASCAR driver Danica Patrick may be the hottest woman at the race track today. And just recently, she proved that women can also win it big in a male dominated sports.

In a sport that is eclipsed by men, Danica Patrick proves that she could just be as good or even better as any male NASCAR driver.

The 30-year-old driver became the first woman to win the pole position for the Daytona 500, the Sprint Cup event on Sunday. The rookie made a record of 196.434 mph lap impressing others who have competed with her.

"Pride. I'm proud of all the hard work that goes into making a pole car. I'm happy for them (the team). It was a fast Chevy. If you're anywhere but the front row, it's hard to see on race day. This just speaks volumes about Stewart-Haas Racing. I thought we were going to be 1-2-3 for a while," Patrick said.

While she is reaping the success of her labor, not a lot of people know about the new NASCAR superstar. Apart from being a NASCAR driver, Danica is also a model and an advertising spokeswoman. She is also considered the most successful in the field of American open-wheel racing and the only woman to win at the IndyCar Series.

Three years ago she began racing for the NASCAR and drove the #7 GoDaddy.com Chevrolet Impala. In 2011, Danica Patrick had her best career finish at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, which also happens to be the best finish of a woman in the NASCAR top-circuit.

Aside from her works in NASCAR, she has also done some work in the media industry. Danica hosted TV shows on Spike TV and was also featured in a documentary titled "Girl Racers." Patrick also graced the pages of Sports Illustrated magazine as well as men's magazine FHM.
