Gillian Anderson still relishes her memories of a "lesbian" relationship. She talked about it first in 2012, but now she wants to open up and reveal all the facts completely. She is 46 years old today, but she still remembers that long ago, when she was in a Michigan high school, she was in a lesbian relationship, according to express.co. When her girlfriend died in 2011 of a brain tumour, Gillian went into silence for a year. She mentioned her in 2012, but had never really spoken much about her, she said.

Gillian is notably known as Agent Dana Scully in the cult phenomenal X-Files series. Her film work includes "The House of Mirth" in 2000, "The Mighty Celt" in 2005 and The Last King of Scotland in 2006, and two X-Files films, "The X-Files" in 1998 and "The X-Files: I Want to Believe" in 2008.

She married her X-Files assistant art director, Clyde Klotz, in 1994, with whom she got a daughter, Piper Maru. However, she got divorced in 1997. Ten years later, in December 2004, she married documentary filmmaker Julian Ozanne, but they separated in 2006. Gillian is the mother of two boys, Felix and Oscar, which she conceived with her former boyfriend Mark Griffiths. That romance got over in 2012. Gillian says that she still went through various relationships with women, but they were passing ones. However, the teenage relationship she had with her high school friend is still fresh in her memory.

She remembers her partner as a "beautiful person" who had added a lot of meaning to Gillian's life. She now wants to honour her, instead of keeping quiet about it. "The X-Files" star mentioned her friend's loyalty, as she had been careful not to sell her story or an intimate photograph of theirs even after Gillian had become famous, and was offered a big cheque for the snap. At one point, years after they separated, she had once called Gillian and revealed that she had been offered a lot of money to give the shot of the two together, but had turned it down. Gillian feels that was generous of her.

Gillian admitted that it was important to feel light about the relationship, to say freely that it happened, and that she does not feel ashamed about it.

She said that she is old enough to talk about it. Had she thought that she was "100 percent gay," she may have looked at it as a different experience. "Would it have been a bigger deal if shame had been attached to it and all those things that become huge life-altering issues for youngsters in that situation?" she asked Independent. Maybe her attitude around it came from knowing that she liked boys, she said.
