Kelly Bishop, who plays Emily Gilmore, told Entertainment Tonight just how her character was coping with the loss of Richard Gilmore, who was played by Edward Herrmann. “She's dealing with the new reality,” the actress said. “She is a widow and she's got to figure out her life. And she goes up and down and back and forth -- as we all do in grief.” Herrmann passed away in 2014.
The 72-year-old actress then went on to say that by the end of the four-part sequel, Emily finds her footing again. However, “she has a few places that she goes that are not great."
