'Gilmore Girls: A Year In The Life': Why Jess will ultimately end up with Rory
When it was first announced that Netflix would release a revival of “Gilmore Girls,” fans of the series were excited and hurriedly rewatched the original episodes. And while the revival -- officially titled “Gilmore Girls: A Year In The Life” -- did not disappoint, it still did not answer whether Rory Gilmore would end up loving Logan Huntzberger or Jess Mariano.
Warning: Spoilers ahead.

During the entire season, Logan (Matt Czuchry) was a fixture in the life of Rory (Alexis Bledel). They had that same connection they always did in Yale, and it was hard for them to part ways. On the other hand, Jess (Milo Ventimiglia) appeared to be a non-constant presence in Rory’s life, as the two appeared to still be each other’s voice of reason and assurance.
But while Rory was not tied to anyone at the end of "Gilmore Girls: A Year In The Life," the announcement that she was pregnant led many fans to argue who she would eventually end up with. The contenders, Logan and Jess, split the fanbase into two unwavering sides. And while the unofficial father of Rory’s baby is Logan, their story seemed to be finished.
On the other hand, Jess’ feelings for Rory seemed to never have faded. As Bustle reported, he longingly looks at Rory though a window, which indicated that Jess was still very much in love with Rory. And while his life was no longer rooted in Stars Hollow, it ultimately is not difficult seeing him settle down there for and with Rory. Logan, on the other hand, would never be able to live in that small town.
One other compelling argument is that out of Rory’s ex-boyfriends in the entire "Gilmore Girls" series -- Dean, Jess and Logan -- Jess is the only one she does not actually have closure with. Unlike Dean and Logan, whom Rory clearly said her goodbyes to, Jess is evidently a character that she wants to keep in her life.
Even Milo has said that he would like it if Jess became like Luke (Scott Patterson), who ultimately married Rory’s mother, Lorelai (Lauren Graham). “I think it would be good for Jess to be like Luke because Luke is a good guy,” he told Entertainment Weekly.
