The bitter family feud over money that has divided Australia's richest person, Gina Rinehart, and two of her estranged adult children could finally end soon.Ms Rinehart, through her lawyer David Russell, told the New South Wales Supreme Court that she has written to the two children and offered to appoint a co-trustee in the trust fund set up by her father Lang Hancock.

John Hancock and Bianca Rinehart had asked the court to remove their mother as as trustee because she changed the vesting date when they could claim the money without informing them.

The overture from Ms Rinehart comes two years of failed attempts on the part of the mining magnate to have the case dismissed, but she has failed. Instead, juicy details about the bitter family feud came out such as her children not even having enough money to send their own kids to school or afford house help.

For her part, Ms Rinehart withheld the money from her children out of the belief they will just fritter it away due to their bad work ethics. One more daughter, Hope Welker, who was part of the lawsuit, withdrew a few months ago when Ms Rinehart offered her several hundred millions as settlement. The lawyer of John told the court the estranged son will first study the offer from Ms Rinehart.
