Giraffe riddle has become a viral hit on Facebook over the last 48 hours and the online fever isn't showing signs of slowing down as it now cripple the twin brother of the social networking juggernaut: Twitter.

The Giraffe riddle is taking the internet by storm as the seemingly simple challenge casted spells upon Facebook universe, prompting majority of its most active users to change their profile pictures into adorable portraits of the long-legged, overstretched neck mammals.

The riddle goes like this:

"It's 3 a.m., the doorbell rings and you wake up. Unexpected visitors! It's your parents and they are here for breakfast. You have strawberry jam, honey, wine, bread and cheese. What is the first thing you open?"

According to the users who actually participated in the online challenge, failure to give the correct answer to the riddle must have to change their profile picture into giraffes.

While the riddle continues to become a worldwide sensation, online debates are also increasing exponentially in an attempt to find the real answer of the tricky question

Correct Answer? Please!

Though the most acceptable answer in the riddle is the word 'door,' a recent article on the Chicago tribune said there is another possible answer to it. The author of the riddle also accepted the answer 'eyes.'

"Also acceptable is "your eyes." Makes sense at 3 a.m. People are having this little mini fight on Facebook over the correct answer. Many are saying you have to open your eyes first before you try to answer the door. And while that makes perfect sense, the way the riddle is worded it seems to indicate that you are already awake so your eyes would already be open," stated by the Chicago Tribune.
