‘Girl Meets World’ finale: Writers tease how show bids goodbye
“Girl Meets World” is heading to its finale following the show's cancellation in Disney. The final episode of the series is titled “Girl Meets Goodbye,” and the show's writers have hinted about what to expect from the finale.
According to writers of “Girl Meets World,” the show will end the way it began: with a lesson about friendship. The writers took to Twitter to hint about the show’s final message to its audiences.
The writers teased that “Girl Meets Goodbye” will teach a powerful lesson. “People change people but can we change destiny? Friday Part 1. How the behavior of friends changes everything,” the writers wrote.
Maya (Sabrina Carpenter) and Riley’s (Rowan Blanchard) friendship has been a pivotal point of “Girl Meets World” since the series has started. Several fans would agree that the girls’ friendship can be compared to that of Cory (Ben Savage) and Shawn's (Rider Strong) in “Boy Meets World.”
Maya and Riley have seen each other grow up. It would be interesting to see how they will be able to keep their friendship until the end.
Meanwhile, both Carpenter and Blanchard have expressed their thoughts about the show’s cancellation through their social media accounts. They have also thanked the people they have worked with, as well as Disney for green- lighting the show in 2013.
"To the family that was created on our set, between the cast and crew, thank you for giving us the ability to make mistakes and to grow,” Carpenter wrote on Instagram. Blanchard, on the other hand, said being part of the popular reboot is the most significant event in her life thus far.
Air date of “Girl Meets Goodbye” in Australia is expected to air on Jan. 20 on Disney Channel.
