Girl Who Harry Styles Skyped, Tweeted, Followed On Twitter is No More, Singer Pays Tribute
Popular One Direction fan Kelcey Hallinan is no more and Harry Styles is sad about it. The 19-year-old One Direction singer paid his heartfelt tribute to "Directioner" (term used for One Direction fans) American girl Hallinan on Twitter after she lost her long time battle with cancer.
"Incredible attitude, incredible person. R.I.P. KH," the singer wrote on Twitter. Earlier in September Kelcey came to limelight when she was given a chance to meet her favourite singer through Make-A-Wish event of meeting One Direction. However, Kelcey was too sick to travel and attend the event. But the very humble Harry Styles took the initiative of making Kelcey's dream come true by calling her privately on Skype.
The two reportedly exchanged numbers so that Kelcey could text Harry whenever she was feeling low. The meeting was arranged by Kelcey's sister Molly who got in touch with Styles' sister Gemma Styles after on social media.
"Ask your brother to tweet @kelceyhal her make a wish to meet him will not happen because she's losing her battle with cancer," Molly tweeted to Gemma Anne Styles in September.
"ATTENTION TWITTER: HARRY STYLES IS CALLING @kelceyhal TODAY," was Gemma's prompt reply.
"Hi @kelceyhal it's nice to 'meet' you. I'm thinking about you.. And sending you all my love. H .xx," Styles wrote after he called up Kelcey on Skype.
Since Harry's heartfelt Twitter tribute to Kelcey, the brave girl is trending on Twitter and Directioners are flooding the social media with thousands of condolence messages for Kelcey and her family.
"You're in a better place little angel you will be missed and loved by your family and directioners," writes One Direction fan suftapenguins on Twitter.
"my respect for the man @Harry_Styles is grows more and more each day, he is honestly a true example of a living and breathing angel," writes another fan pftstyles on Twitter.
"#RIPKelcey this is the saddest and cutest thing i've ever read i'm crying," writes another fan Drake on Twitter.
Hallinan, who graduated from Dunmore High School in June, had been struggling to beat Hodgkin lymphoma for almost two years. She lost her battle on Sunday afternoon.
"Heaven gained the most beautiful angel this afternoon. My heart will never feel the same after today, but my love for her will never leave," her sister Molly wrote on Twitter on Sunday.
It's a wonderful gesture from Harry Styles (who has sometimes been called a "womaniser") to not only make a wish come true of a dying girl but also remember her after she passed away. Styles has definitely gained respect and love from his fans for his act.
