As a supermodel, Gisele Bundchen has her fair share of photo retouches. But it doesn't mean that she prefers it that way. The 32-year-old Brazilian model claims she embraces her imperfections.

Bundchen teamed up with creative director Johan Lindeberg for BLK DNM, in which she posed without makeup for the photo shoot that lasted for two years.

"I came in and I met him and I said, 'this guy he's a very real, nice person. I want to do something with him,'" she told Fashionista. "And then he said okay we have two hours, let's just do it now - no hair, no makeup and really real."

Bundchen couldn't stop gushing over Lindeberg's style.

"I love his approach because I feel like women should be really real and raw and it doesn't really happen anymore [in fashion photographs]. I love that feeling of, you know, we are women, we are so different, our imperfections are what make us unique and beautiful," she continued.

"He gets that. He's not trying to retouch you or put a pretty light on you. He's not like 'you gotta look a certain way.' He's like, 'you are you' so now I'm gonna just be here with a camera, so express yourself how you like."

The message is positive and empowering to all women, but not all appreciate it.

Comments online are divided, with others glad that a supermodel finally declines Photoshop. However, a lot of online commenters felt that Bundchen is being hypocrite.

"She's made millions off photoshopped images and now it's bad? Can't have it both ways," one commenter wrote.

"Imperfection is beautiful... right... when you're flawless it's easy to say!" another online reader said.

"All this talk about going hair and makeup free and the only photo from the campaign you post is one where you can't see her hair and makeup? Really?" truth teller wrote on Fashionista's Web site.
