The death of a popular character in a hit drama series is always one of the high points and which leaves the fans shocked and in tears. It is a pre-planned creative decision. However, the exit of Finn Hudson, played by the late Cory Monteith, was not something that the co-creator of "Glee," Ryan Murphy, was looking forward to write.

Cory Monteith passed away in July this year at the age o 31. He allegedly died because of a drug-overdose. According to a latest report published British Columbia Coroners Service, investigators discovered a spoon with drug residue and a used hypodermic needle in the Canadian actor's hotel room

The death of the actor in real life has made creators of musical drama series, "Glee," kill one of the most loved characters on T.V., Finn. The character was edited out from the first two episodes of the new season of "Glee."

The third episode of "Glee" Season 5, "The Quarterback," is a tribute to Cory Monteith. According to Murphy, Cory was the quarterback to the group of "Glee" and to him "particularly."

Murphy said that the group of kids struggled with their sudden fame and the limelight at a tricky, young age. "Cory obviously very much struggled with it, but never on the surface, and I think that's why everybody loved him," he said. "He was the most kind, the most generous -- never a bad word for anybody," the co-creator said as quoted by The Hollywood Reporter.

The tribute to Cory's character is scheduled to air on October 10, 2013 after which the musical drama series will take a break. "What you will see in the episode is what really happened," Murphy said. He also said that it was hard shooting the episode because the crew left the room crying and the emotions onscreen are real and is for Cory, the person and not for the fictional character of Finn.
