The Glee Project Season 2's latest graduate, Nellie Veitenheimer, showed so much potential during her run at the reality show. However, she has been perceived to be holding back. It seemed to the show runners that she was not entirely into the whole thing.

Zach Woodlee, Veitenheimer's mentor, has always told the young singer she could make it through the competition if she would be completely serious about it.

"What the hell is wrong with this girl? Does she not know she's a star?" frustrated co-creator Ryan Murphy has said about her last week.

Speaking to HuffPost TV after she packed her bags, Veitenheimer admitted thoughts of intimidation got the better of her.

"I've always been terrible at expressing myself. I was so intimidated by everyone else and how badly they wanted it," she said.

She was described to be "awkward and introverted." These qualities are supposedly what could draw young girls to Veitenheimer's personality.

"I realize now that I didn't need to compare myself to everyone else, and that I'm representing a large group of young adults. People have been reaching out to me and telling me that I've helped them get through the day at school. It's amazing and kind of inspiring to be a part of that," she said.

So what made the young girl decide to join The Glee Project despite some signs of confidence issues?

Speaking to Gina Scarpa of RealityWanted.com, Veitenheimer said:

"I did watch season 1 and was a huge fan. That's what alerted me that there would be a season 2. I thought, "Well, I have to do it!" I have tried out for other singing competitions but I'm glad I didn't make it on any of them. This one really takes you through a journey. I learned so much more than I would've."

No regrets, then. Veitenheimer said her biggest take away from the Glee reality experience is confidence. Talking about her experience and what she hopes to do post-Glee, the young girl seemed optimistic that she is still on track.

"I've kind of allowed myself and given myself permission to do more than I thought I was capable of. I've learned that I am relatable and I can be inspiring to a certain group of people. I want to continue to pursue both acting and singing. I will always do music but I think it's important that I try to do both."

Apparently, The Glee Project fans could still see Veitenheimer in the future. She is not giving up.
