“Glee” has released its teaser poster for its Cory Monteith tribute episode. With a simple black-and-white photo of the late star’s face, the promo promises a poignant episode dedicated to remembering Cory.

“The hardest word to say is ‘goodbye,’” the caption on the promo reads.

Show creator Ryan Murphy has tweeted the ad for the tribute episode on Thursday, which will be aired in the U.S. on October 10.

Little is known about highly anticipated episode, though sources told eonline.com that it will take place in Lima, Ohio, and, as expected, will centre on the death of Finn Hudson, Cory’s character.

“You will cry from beginning to end,” an insider told the Web site in August.

As Murphy had revealed before, they will not show how Finn died in the episode. They were speculations that Finn’s death would mirror Cory’s, who died of drug overdose at the age of 31 in a Vancouver hotel in July.

However, while the writers had considered that storyline, they decided not to pursue it.

“Basically, what we’re doing in the episode is we are not telling you yet, or maybe not at all, how that character died,” Murphy told Deadline. “The idea being, how somebody died is interesting and maybe morbid, but we say very early on in the episode, ‘This episode is about a celebration of that character’s life.’

“That might be weird for some people, but it felt really exploitative to do it any other way.”

Eonline.com added that Lea Michele, Cory’s girlfriend and who plays Rachel in the show, does not appear in the memorial episode until the final act.

The tribute episode will be the third one of the show’s fifth season.

Cory was recently given tribute in the Emmy Awards on Sunday. His co-star Jane Lynch made the tribute on stage.
