Glee Season 2's Britney Spears episode to air this week, details revealed
Glee Season 2's Britney Spears episode will air next Tuesday in the United States. Details on the much-anticipated episode has been revealed with the release of the new trailer for the "Brittney/Brittany" episode last weekend.
The New Directions will render their own version to the pop star's "Toxic" and Rachel Berry, played by Leah Michele, will perform "Hit Me Baby One More Time." Kevin McHale will sing Spears' "Stronger."
The episode will see cheerleader Brittany, played by Heather Morris, taking the center stage with her performance of Britney's "Slave 4 U" and appearance opposite Britney Spears' herself in "Me Against The Music."
In Glee Season 2's Britney Spears episode, it's not only Britney's music which will be given a Glee-full version. Rachel Berry will also sing "The Only Exception" by Paramore. Michele, the actress who plays Berry, said: "I've wanted to do Paramore since the beginning. The song that I'm doing is actually my ringtone."
In the same episode, a new character will also be introduced. As previously reported, ER star John Stamos will play dentist Dr. Carl Howell, who will serve as Mathew Morrison's Mr. Schuester rival for the affection of McKinley's guidance counselor Emma Pillsbury, played by Jayma Mays.
Stamos' dentist character will administer anesthesia to New Direction's Rachel Berry, Artie, cheerleaders Brittany and Santana, which lead them into a dreamy sequence, where Britney Spears will appear.
