Glee Season 4 finale featured a Regionals competition instead of a Nationals and a high school graduation. Series creator Ryan Murphy has earlier hinted he does not want the series to be predictable in how and when it closes a chapter. Now that Murphy is able to prepare for two more seasons, he is free to make longterm plans for some very good TV comedy.

On TV.com, the synopsis for Glee Season 4 finale reads:

"The New Directions prepare for Regionals, and are determined at another win at Nationals. Brittany dons a new attitude after returning from her trip to M.I.T. Ryder has a lead to whoever is "cat fishing" him."

Glee Season 4 Finale: Naya Rivera Dishes Santana's Talks with Brittany

In an interview with E! Naya Rivera dished some updates about her character Santana and her love story with Brittany (Heather Morris). "Santana is figuring out what happens with Brittany's character, and I come back and obviously get to talk to her, and sort of wrap things up, and it's kind of sad."

Rivera went on to share with fans some of her Santana wishes. She said, "I would love to explore Santana as this independent adult living in this new city and what that means for her love life and all that good stuff."

Glee Season 5 Preview with Jacob Artist aka Jake Puckerman

Glee Season 5 is likely to pick up where it left off in Season 4 finale. No time jump or flash forwards. Jacob Artist, who plays McKinley High School sophomore Jake Puckerman, tells Entertainment Weekly:

"This is the first year we're not ending the season with graduation so I think next season is going to kind of pick up where we left off."

Artist also shared with Glee fans some bits about the Season 4 finale. He dishes something about Ryder's catfishing story arc, saying, the mystery girl (or boy) "will be revealed."

Making a guest appearance on Glee Season 4 finale is American Idol 2012 runner-up Jessica Sanchez. Artist said, "She's (playing) the rival vocal superstar and she's incredible."

Glee Season 5 is expected to bring with it some surprises. Morris' pregnancy has sparked rumours that she will not be returning as Brittany next season. Could this be the reason why Rivera said Santana's talks with Brittany have been "sad?"
