Glee Season 5 Episode 1 'Love' Quotes: 'My soul knew something' - Best Romantic Speech, Blaine Outdoes Himself [SPOILERS]
Finchel fans to see Cory Monteith tribute in Episode 3
"Glee" Season 5, Episode 1 ("Love Love Love") aired on Fox on Thursday (Sept. 26). The Fox dramedy premiere has been much anticipated by many Finchel (Finn Hudson and Rachel Berry) fans. But this week is really for Kurt and Blaine.
Spoiler Alert: This recap contains major spoilers for those who have yet to watch Glee Season 5 premiere episode.
Glee may have just schooled "Modern Family's" Cameron (Eric Stonestreet) and Mitch (Jesse Tyler Ferguson) on romantic proposal 101. Kurt (Chris Colfer) and Blaine (Darren Criss) bask in the glory of The Beatles' "All You Need is Love" in their huge proposal moment. As always, Blaine dishes another best romantic quote for the fans.
Filming for Glee Season 5 begun so soon after Lea Michele lost her boyfriend Cory Monteith to a devastating tragedy. It was initially reported that filming would be pushed back. But Glee creator Ryan Murphy later said it is best for the Gleek family to see each other, and grieve Cory's death together.
Celebrating the music of The Beatles in Glee Season 5 was developed a couple of months ago. The show's tribute to Cory Monteith and Finn Hudson will be seen in Episode 3.
For Gleeks looking for what Blaine said in his marriage proposal to Kurt, here's another romantic quote from the "Teenage Dream" boyfriend-turned-fiancé:
"My soul knew something that my body and my mind didn't know. It knew that our hands were meant to hold each other fearlessly and forever. Which is why it's never really felt like I was getting to know you, it's always felt like I was remembering you from something. As if in every lifetime you and I have ever lived we've chosen to come back and find each other and fall in love all over again, over and over again for all eternity. And I just feel so lucky that I've found you so soon in this lifetime because all I want to do, all I've ever wanted to do, is spend my life loving you. So, Kurt Hummel, my amazing friend, my one true love, Will you marry me?"
How good is Blaine in weaving the most romantic quotes of all time? He also said some very nice things to Kurt on Glee Season 2's Valentine's Day episode, "Silly Love Songs." Here it goes:
"People have been celebrating Valentine's Day for centuries, and call me a hopeless romantic, but it's my favorite holiday. I think there's something really great about a day where you're encouraged to just lay it all on the line and say to somebody: '"I'm in love with you!'"
Here's what Blaine said in Glee Season 2, Episode 16, "Original Song." The episode aired in March 2011.
"Kurt, there is a moment where you say to yourself - 'Oh, there you are. I've been looking for you forever.' Watching you do 'Blackbird' this week, that was a moment for me - about you. You move me, Kurt, and this duet would just be an excuse to spend more time with you."
Blaine's proposal - assisted by Vocal Adrenaline and The Warblers - takes the last minutes of Glee Season 5 premiere. "Love, love, love," the Gleeks say. The cast and crew were grieving, but they did come out with something sweet, romantic, and hopeful.
Glee Season 5, Episode 2 is called, "Tina in the Sky with Diamonds." This is the second and last part of the show's tribute to The Beatles. They will say their farewell to Finn Hudson and Cory Monteith after this episode. Glee airs on U.S. channel Fox on Thursddays at 9 p.m.
