Glee Season 5 has to be re-written following the tragic demise of one of its main cast, Cory Monteith. Lea Michele, Cory's grieving girlfriend, is feared to be considering quitting the series. Do Finchel fans have to worry?

Cory Monteith cremated, Lea Michele Joins BF's Mother and Brother in Private Wake

Cory Monteith has been cremated following a private wake with his mother, brother, and girlfriend Lea Michele. The late actor's father only learned about the cremation after it's done, reports TMZ.

Through her rep, Lea has issued a statement thanking fans for their support in such a difficult time in her life. But the actress has never spoken directly to the press since Cory was found dead. It was earlier reported that Lea would call Cory's number just to hear his voice again as she's directed to voicemail. How will she return to Glee Season 5 knowing she'll never have a scene with Cory as Finn ever again?

Is Lea Michele Quitting Glee?

In its report, Hollywoodlife.com cited a source as saying Finchel fans will not lose Rachel Berry, too. Earlier, fears of Finn Hudson recasting have surfaced, but no one from Fox or Glee production has confirmed anything. It is widely believed, however, that Glee creator Ryan Murphy, also Cory's friend, will not recast Finn.

“Lea is not leaving Glee. Everyone is going to take things lightly as the first few days back on set are going to be an emotional roller coaster," says the Hollywoodlife source. "But producers are wrapping their heads around all aspects of how to move the show forward and will respect Lea’s wishes in their hopes to make the show as special moving forward as it was in the past."

Barely a month earlier, Cory delighted fans on Twitter with a shout-out saying, "So, what did I miss?" (Follow this link for Cory Monteith's final tweets.) The message signaled his exit from rehab. His character Finn is supposed to be front and center of the Glee Season 5 premiere.

Fox executives have earlier confirmed they will give the cast and crew a time to breathe before production starts. This means Glee Season 5 premiere could air as late as November (instead of September) this year.
