Glee Season 5 spoilers indicated Cory Monteith was to become a prominent presence in the first episodes of the show's new chapter. In view of his tragic death, however, it is understood the first scripts would be re-written. Will Glee creator Ryan Murphy create a scenario in which Cory's Finn Hudson dies, too? Meanwhile, the Glee producers had been looking to add two new characters in the show before news of Cory's death broke.

Cory Monteith's remains cremated, Lea Michele mourns with his family

Cory Monteith's body has been cremated in Vancouver after a private viewing of his remains. Lea Michele, Cory's girlfriend, joined his mother and brother in a solemn viewing before the cremation.

Shortly before the cremation, Lea's rep releases a statement for the media:

"Lea is deeply grateful for all the love and support she’s received from family, friends, and fans. Since Cory’s passing, Lea has been grieving alongside his family and making appropriate arrangements with them," People quoted the rep.

Fox executives have since told the media Glee Season 5 might be delayed up to November to give the cast and crew some time to grieve.

Glee Season 5: Cory Monteith's Finn Hudson as teacher

In Glee Season 4, Finn Hudson flies to New York after Santana tells him Rachel Berry has been involved with a shady character, specifically Brody, a male prostitute. He winds up thrashing Brody and telling him, “Stay away from my future wife!” Rachel learns of this and is perceived to have renewed her hopes for a real future between them. Later on, Finn steps away from the main developments of the show to pursue a career in teaching.

When Glee returns in September, it would be telling a different story, or at least different from what was generally expected for Finn.

Wanted: (At least) 2 new Gleeks coming on board

Glee Season 5 spoiler sources are saying at least two new characters will be introduced in the show. The scoop surfaced before Cory was found dead over the weekend. There has been no word that Finn Hudson will be recast to someone else, presumably because this would be revolting to Finchel's fans. That said, more characters might be added in the hopes of filling the void that resulted from Cory's death.
