Glee star Mark Salling talks about music and his inspiration for new album Pipe Dreams.
Glee star Mark Salling appears in a photo-spread for the October/November 2010 issue of Da Man magazine. In the interiew for the magazine, the Glee Season 2 main stay said his album Pipe Dreams was a result of a decade-long work in which he aims to showcase his "broad musical taste."
"This album was a long time coming. It is actually 13 selected tracks from my library that I have compiled over the last 10 years. I wanted to choose a wide variety of songs that showcased my broad musical taste," said Salling to Da Man, as posted in JustJared.com
The Glee Season 2 resident sports jock said that he is inspired to write by anything, citing "the typical love" and "having a bad day" as two of his inspirations. But Salling also goes deep, as he says that seeing someone quadriplegic and realizing that the need to count one's blessing, also serves as an inspiration.
Salling confessed that he never anticipated the sucess of Glee, now currently on Season 2. However, the singer said he also found the show's success "gratifying."
"I don't think anybody did, but I had a really good feeling based on the pilot script, so I felt like it had a good chance of being [successful]. But we work very hard, so any kind of accolade is gratifying," said Salling.
