‘Glitch’ season 2 release date, spoilers: Dr Elishia McKellar’s connection with ‘The Risen’
Australian paranormal drama “Glitch” will soon return for a second season, it has been confirmed. Filming of season 2 is currently underway and will reportedly go on until the end of March. An image from the set has been shared, showing the crew while shooting in a hospital. Fans are getting a first look into ABC TV’s “Glitch” season 2. [Post at the bottom.]
“Glitch’s” upcoming instalment is expected to delve deeper into the lives of the undead in the previous season. The series will further unravel their involvement with Dr Elishia McKellar (Genevieve O’Reilly), as hinted by the hospital scene below.
On the other hand, theories suggest that one of the characters from the seven “undead” might have ended up in the hospital. If such is the case, many of their secrets are expected to be revealed in “Glitch” season 2. The crew has since confirmed that the hospital seen in the photo below is neither Bendigo nor Kyneton hospital.
While fans in Australia wait for news on “Glitch” season 2, there are only very few details available. The makers are tight-lipped about the plot and the same has been the case with the cast. The only detail that’s known is that actor Rob Collins will be making an appearance as a character named Phil. Further details about his character are being withheld.
The first two episodes of “Glitch” season 2 are already given titles. Episode 1 is titled “Two Truths,” while the second goes by the title “Ashes to Ashes.” Louise Fox wrote the screenplay for the first episode, while Giula Sandler wrote the second. Emma Freeman is in charge of direction.
ABC head of scripted production Sally Rile, talking on season 2, says in a statement: “Glitch really broke the mould for ABC drama when audiences flocked to binge watch this fantastic paranormal mystery on iview. In 2017 we are going to shock, surprise and thrill fans, both returning and new, with what we have in store for Season 2.”
Season 2 of “Glitch” is co-produced by Netflix and will be streamed globally on the network outside of Australia, New Zealand and Africa this year. The series is being filmed mostly in Melbourne and in regional Victoria.
The second instalment of “Glitch” arrives later this year. All six episodes of season 2 will have a runtime of 60 minutes each. The show is slated to air on ABC TV in Australia, and on Netflix internationally.
