'Godzilla: King of the Monsters' begins viral marketing
The viral marketing for “Godzilla: King of the Monsters” has begun. A new Twitter page has been created to promote the film. A new promo video has also been released online.
After releasing the “atomic breath” teaser picture, a new clip from the film showcases Monarch, a group that has been tasked with investigating monsters. The group was mentioned in both “Godzilla” and “Kong: Skull Island,” and it will be back in the next film.
The scene [see below] shows Madison Russell (Millie Bobby Brown) trying to contact Monarch. It isn’t clear under what circumstances the call is made, but judging by the sounds towards the end of the video it looks like Madison will see some new monsters.
There will be multiple new monsters that will be introduced in the next film. Fans will get to see the butterfly-like monster Mothra, the creature Rodan that has powerful wings that are capable of creating a hurricane, and then there is the ultimate foe King Ghidorah.
King Ghidorah is a three-headed monster that is capable of flight, The monster is often seen as the prime nemesis of Godzilla. This battle should be featured in the last act of the upcoming film.
It will be interesting to see how Monarch will play a role in the upcoming film. Judging by the promo clip, the group will be important to not only the story but also the future of the franchise. Will the group help create Mecha-King Ghidorah or Mecha-Godzilla in the future?
The franchise has established that monsters roamed the earth at a time when the surface was much more radioactive. Monarch has been studying these monsters for decades, which should give the scientists an idea about how to create mechanical monsters of their own at some point in the future.
“Godzilla: King of the Monsters” is set to be released on May 31, 2019 in the US.
