The Golden Globes 2013 red carpet saw a vibrant and glamorous Adele, who felt "weird" to be in an awards ceremony for feature films. She took home one of the first awards of the night.

"All these people here, like characters I've come to love in films and TV and it's very weird coming here and not being around my peers," Adele told Ryan Seacrest. The diva wore a long black Burberry gown and accessorized with Carter jewels for the occasions.

"I'd like to thank the Hollywood Foreign Press. I never thought I'd say that," Adele said in her acceptance speech.

Twitter users were quick to give meaning to Taylor Swift's reaction when Adele accepted her Golden Globe for "Skyfall." User @StylesForce tweets, "Waits for Taylor to write a song about Adele."

Earlier this year, Nielsen Soundscan reported Taylor Swift's "Red" lost to Adele's "21," as the best-selling album in the U.S. for two consecutive years. Adele sold 4.41 million albums in 2012, while Swift sold 3.11 million.

Adele scores anew with her Golden Globe win. Swift was nominated for "Safe and Sound," from the movie The Hunger Games.

Meanwhile, "Skyfall" has also been nominated for best original song at the 2013 Academy Awards. The day this news was announced, Adele took to Twitter to gush over the recognition.

"Oh my god I feel like Meryl Streep!! Thank you x," she tweeted. Over 6,000 users re-tweeted and nearly 5,000 favorited the shout-out. This goes to show Adele's strong support among the social network users.
