Golden Globes 2015: Television’s Winners’ Prediction, ‘House Of Cards’ And ‘The Affair’
The first awards of the year is on tonight and fans are making their bets on who will be the big winner for this year's Golden Globes. Organised by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, or HFPA, 2015 Golden Globes features both television and movies that are all vying for the top spot as they prepare for the Oscars and the Emmys.
Here are the 2015 Golden Globes prediction, according to The Guardian, before the big winners will be announced tonight.
Best Television Series -- Drama
Netflix's "House of Cards" is reportedly going to take home the award tonight after losing the same award to "Breaking Bad" last year. Lead star Robin Wright took home the Best Actress Award and this year the actress is nominated again together with leading man Kevin Spacey for the Best Actor. "House of Cards" is head to head with HBO's "Game of Thrones," Showtime's "The Affair," PBS's "Downtown Abbey" and CBS's "The Good Wife."
Best Performance By An Actress in a Television Series -- Drama
Ruth Wilson's of "The Affair" is making it big time in the awards with her stellar performance worthy of an award. The actress is head to head with "How to Get Away with Murder" actress Viola Davis and former winner Robin Wright of "House of Cards." Other actresses who are nominated include "Homeland's" Clare Danes and "The Good Wife's" Julianna Margulies.
Best Performance By An Actor in a Television Series -- Drama
Thanks to his outstanding performance in "The Knick," British actor Clive Owen is making a lot of buzz for this year's awards. Other actors nominated for the same category include James Spader for "The Blacklist," Kevin Spacey for "House of Cards," Liev Schreiber for "Ray Donovan" and Dominic West for "The Affair."
Best Television Series -- Comedy or Musical
Known as Amazon's pride, "Transparent" is predicted to dominate this category. Other shows nominated for Best Television Series for Comedy or Musical include "Jane The Virgin," "Orange is the New Black," "Silicon Valley" and HBO's "Girls."
Best Performance By An Actress in a Television -- Comedy or Musical
After two seasons of wearing the orange jumpsuit, "Orange is the New Black" star Taylor Schiling is the best bet for this category. "Jane the Virgin" star Gina Rodriguez is making a lot of buzz but still unknown in the television industry so there is a big chance for Schiling to take home the award this year. Other actresses nominated for this category include Lena Dunham for "Girls," Eddie Falco for "Nurse Jackie" and Julia Louis-Dreyfus for "Veep."
Best Performance By An Actor in a Television -- Comedy or Musical
His remarkable performance in "Transparent" makes Jeffrey Tambor worthy of a Golden Globe trophy for tonight's awards night. Ricky Gervais is up for nomination for his role in "Derek" while William H Macy is nominated for "Shameless." Other actors nominated for the same category include Louis CK for "Louis" and Don Cheadle for "House of Lies."
