Get ready for a good old western shootout when the Golden State Warriors and Minnesota Timberwolves Wednesday night as the two teams aim for conference leadership early in the 2013-14 NBA regular season.

The Warriors and Wolves are among the league leaders in scoring, Golden State ranks third overall in points per game (112.0) while Minnesota is at fifth (105.3).

They are also similarly capable in taking care of the glass and sharing the ball. The Warriors are number one in the league in assists per game (29.0) while the Timberwolves are 10th with 23.0 dimes per outing. The teams are also tied for ninth in the league in rebounds per game (44.8).

The early season success—both teams at 3-1 at this point of the season—can be credited for their excellent team play led by a high-quality performance from their respective stars.

Four players average in double figure scoring for the Warriors led by Klay Thompson's average of 22.5 markers.

Superstar point guard Stephen Curry averages 22.0 PPG, 4.5 RPG, 9.8 APG (2nd in the NBA) and 1.8 SPG; David Lee with 19.8 PPG and 8.0 RPG; and Andrew Iguodala with 14.5 PPG, 4.3 RPG, 5.8 APG and 1.8 SPG.

Iguodala, who is in his first year with the Warriors, is happy with what he’s seeing.

"We have a really great group and our offense flows really well," said Iguodala to nba.com. “We share the ball. We have two of the best shooters in the league of all time, and it gives us really good spacing."

Meanwhile, Kevin Love missed a potential game-winning 3-pointer against the Cavaliers in their last outing for Minnesota’s first loss of the season.

"My team trusts me to make that shot and more often than not I believe that I'm going to make the shot," said Love, who is the unquestionable leader of the squad with 26.5 PPG (4thin the NBA) and 14.3 RPG (2nd).

Ricky Rubio sets the table with 9.0 APG (3rd) and is active on defense too with 4.0 steals per outing (1st). Three other players average in double-figure scoring for the Wolves as well; Kevin Martin with 21.3 PPG, Corey Brewer with 12.0 PPG; and Nikola Pekovic with 11.3 PPG.
