It stars Ben Affleck (Nick Dunne), Rosamund Pike (Amy Elliott-Dunne), Neil Patrick Harris (Desi Collings), Patrick Fugit (Officer Jim Gilpin), Sela Ward (Sharon Schieber) and Tyler Perry (Tanner Bolt). "Gone Girl" is a book-to-film adaptation of a novel written by Gillian Flynn. The film's screenplay was also written by Flynn. It is directed by David Fincher and produced by Reese Witherspoon, Bruna Papandrea, Leslie Dixon and Ceán Chaffin. The film's running time is 149 minutes. Its main plot is about the Dunnes, particularly the disappearance of Amy Elliott-Dunne on their fifth wedding anniversary. According to Variety, "Gone Girl" had a budget of $61 million.

Worst Moments:

1. Amy lied, made up stories, used and manipulated other people for her personal gain.

2. Amy pretended that she was raped by Desi and even inserted a bottle inside herself to corroborate her story.

4. Amy used Nick's sperm (without his consent) from a fertility clinic and got pregnant because of it.

The Internet Movie Database, or IMDb rating for "Gone Girl" is 8.6/10 from 36,590 users. It garnered a Metascore of 79/100 from 49 critics including Chris Nashawaty of Entertainment Weekly, who gave the film a score of 100 and Peter Travers of Rolling Stone, who gave the film an 88.

Rotten Tomatoes Ratings:

According to the Tomatometer, "Gone Girl" deserves an 87% score and is certified fresh by Rotten Tomatoes. It scored an 8/10 average rating, with 197 considering it fresh and only 29 considering it rotten out of 226 reviews. It also got a 97% score from the audience as of this writing.

Critics' Reviews:

"Anyone who loved Gone Girl the book will walk out of Gone Girl the movie with a sick grin on their face. You can stop being nervous," Chris Nashawaty wrote on Entertainment Weekly.

Meanwhile, Peter Travers of Rolling Stone thinks that "Gone Girl" is a good adaptation of Flynn's novel.

Audience Reviews:

"Very good movie. Performances were convincing and Fincher succeeds at creating a very disturbing/creepy atmosphere. Definitely recommend," Spencer Macklin wrote in a review posted on the Rotten Tomatoes website. Macklin gave "Gone Girl" 4/5 stars.
