"The Good Wife" Season 6 is still on hiatus, which means the avid viewers will have to wait until Jan. 4 to watch the next new episode. Alicia Florrick (Julianna Margulies) is preparing for a big debate, while her partner Cary Agos (Matt Czuchry) is getting ready for a serious jailtime.

Alicia will soon face TV celebrity Frank Prady (David Hyde Pierce) in a debate that is part of the race to the State's Attorney's Office. This development and Cary's trial are the main plots of The Good Wife Season 6. Alicia and Frank Prady are now even in the polls, which makes the upcoming debate in Episode 11 very crucial.

Meanwhile, Eli Gold (Alan Cumming) and Johnny Elfman (Steven Pasquale) are expected to continue their own debates on Alicia's next steps in her campaign. Cumming and Pasquale have brilliant chemistry, adding more colours and flavours to the Florricks' lives in The Good Wife Season 6.

In The Good Wife Season 6, Episode 10 ("The Trial"), Lemond Bishop (Mike Colten) offers an escape plan to Cary, so he doesn't have to go to jail. Cary makes a stand to stay. Alicia's partner then pleads guilty. He is looking at two to four years in prison.

A dangerous war erupts between Bishop and Kalinda Sharma (Archie Panjabi) in The Good Wife 6x10. The latter threatens the drug lord that she has enough proof to convince that government to take his son away from him. Bishop does not kill Kalinda, but viewers expect more from this war in the next episodes.

Panjabi is leaving The Good Wife, making her fans speculate on what happens next to her character. The Bishop link could be a red herring in the end. The manner by which Panjabi leaves the series could come in another surprising twist, like Will Gardner's death.

The Good Wife Season 6 New Episode Airs Jan. 4 on CBS

"The Mentalist" starring Simon Baker is currently airing on The Good Wife's CBS timeslot, but the latter will take its regular schedule beginning Jan. 4.
