It is official, Vanessa Minnillo is now Vanessa Lachey.

"So, I'm making it official, and I love my new name! @VanessaLachey has a nice ring to it," tweeted the 31-year-old newlywed.

It took her five months after her July wedding with beau Nick Lachey to finally decide on switching her maiden-name Minnillo to Lachey.

How far have they come?

The couple have been dating since 2006. Despite rumors flying that Nick Lachey has not moved on since his split with Jessica Simpson, his engagement last November 2010 with Vanessa Minnillo proves he definitely has.

"Hey all, If anyone's heard rumors of my engagement, they are absolutely true," tweeted Lachey last November 2010. Proof enough that Jessica Simpson no longer has a hold of his heart.

Aside from surprising their fellow celebrities of their wedding, the couple also kept quiet about the wedding to their own families, relatives and friends.

"Nobody knew where they were going," says Minnillo in an interview by People. "Our wedding invitations were in the form of a plane ticket," added Nick Lachey.

''Island Chic'' was the wedding's main theme. While the groom, Nick Lachey, wore a Dolce & Gabanna suit, his bride opted to wear a two-piece Monique Lhuillier ensemble. The newlywed's wedding may have been vague in details and hidden quite well for the press, their wedding was aired as a special on TLC last July 30.

First came dating, now came the wedding, what's next for Vanessa Minnillo and Nick Lachey?

After literally making a big change in her name on Twitter, fans of the couple are now waiting for the famous baby bump. Despite Vanessa Lachey wanting a family all too quickly, Nick on the other hand wants to take things a bit more slow this time.

"We both look forward to family but there's no real time table for that stuff," said the singer in an interview by E! "Just whenever it happens it does and that'll be a great day."

Vanessa may have one-upped Jessica by finally changing her maiden name to Lachey and publicly announcing the great, big change on Twitter.

As for everyone else who's been keeping an eye on celebrity couples, fans are hoping these two don't end up as Kim Kardashian & Kris Humphries or Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher.
