Google LG Nexus 4 Low Supply Results to High Retail Price
New smart phones easily run out of supply within hours of release then become difficult to obtain in the next months. Google and LG currently face the supply issue with the Nexus 4. As a result, the Nexus 4 device started to appear in usual retail places with a high price. The question is: Are you willing purchase the overpriced device?
Google sold the Nexus 4 8GB model for just $299 and $349 for the larger 16GB version during its launch. On eBay, the Nexus 4 units have prices ranging from $425 to $640 depending on the smart phone's capacity. The top result in searching eBay shows an 8GB Nexus 4 for $549 with free shipping. The seller has more than 10 units available and has already sold 43. The seller has already made a profit from people who are unwilling to wait for the Nexus 4 to return in stock. eBay seller "photon_express" offers an astounding price of $1,749.99 for 16GB Nexus 4 models.
The deals web site "Daily Steals" offers a price of $499 for the 16GB Nexus 4 with free shipping. Daily Steals has initially listed the price of the Nexus 4 at $799.00. This means a $499 price tag will still give discount to the consumers a $300 off the retail value. T-Mobile, another retail outlet, offers the price of $500 but sells the device for $199 with a two-year agreement.
Limited stock of the Nexus 4 causes the consumers to purchase the smart phone at a higher price where it is easily available compared to the gadget's official price offer at the Play Store.
