Google Nexus 4: Manufacturer LG Dismiss Supply Issues as 'Groundless'
Google Nexus 4 immediately sold out after the device's release at the Google Play Store on November 13, 2012. Customer complaints about the Nexus 4 supply problems began but LG claimed that the shortage reports are groundless because the device's production is operating well.
With the numerous reports on supply problems, consumers began to wonder if LG's production lines are actually capable of meeting the high demand of Google Nexus 4. An unnamed UK Google director even responded to the complaints of people unable to purchase the device saying "supplies from the manufacturer are scarce and erratic."
However, the company representative denied the supply problems to Korea's Chosul Ilbo news outlet on Tuesday.
"Our domestic Pyeongtaek manufacturing plant has been producing the Nexus 4 without a hitch. There is no problem in supplying. The Nexus 4 by LG is significant in that it's becoming more successful than the Samsung Galaxy Nexus," the representative stated.
Nexus 4 became a high-demand product because the device is running on a simple version of Google's Android operating system. The device is a revised version of LG Optimus G with a more stylish hardware design where new features can be added upon Google's update on the Android operating system.
Another interesting Nexus 4 feature is the cheap price. Google sells the device at the price of $299 or $349 without a contract which is a good offer for an unlocked phone that can be used on any GSM-based carrier.
Nexus 4 has been out of stock in the Google Play Store since November 2012. The device became available for a short time at the T-Mobile stores because it quickly sold out as well. There were even claims that Nexus 4 is returning this month to the T-Mobile stores but confirmation has not been reported yet.
