Google Nexus 7 Maker Asus Releases World's First Motherboards for AMD FM2 + APUs
Google Nexus 7 maker ASUS announced the release of two motherboards: the new A88XM-A and A55BM-A/USB3. The two motherboards released are the first of its kind to work with the new new Socket FM2+ APUs (Accelerated Processing Units) from AMD.
The A88XM-A with AMD A88X chipset along with the A55BM-A/USB3 and A55 chipset are categorized as Micro-ATX motherboards for the current Richland' and 'Trinity' FM2 APUs. Asus also made sure they are hardware-ready for the next AMD 'Kaveri' FM2+ APUs.
These APUs will be responsible for supporting the DirectX 11.1 and PCI Express 3.0.
