Google finally made Android 4.3 Jelly Bean official and it is now being pushed to both Samsung Galaxy Nexus and the Nexus 10. As expected, the latest version of Android OS features most of the improvements which already been exposed. If you own the device, start checking "Software Update" section in the Settings menu.

Android 4.3 Jelly Bean currently being pushed to both Galaxy Nexus and Nexus 10 via Over-the-Air process or if you want to get ahead, simply download the firmware then manually install it.

Over-the-Air Procedure

The simplest method to update your device for Android 4.3 Jelly Bean is to use Over-the-Air or OTA.

1. From the home screen on your device, go to "Settings > About Phone."

2. Then select "Software Updates > Check for Updates."

3. If your area is currently receiving the official firmware update, follow the instructions provided for you.

4. However, make sure you create a backup of all your contacts, messages, personal settings and data files before updating your device for safety precaution.

5. Usually, the update requires your device to have at least 50 per cent battery level to proceed. So, plug your device to its AC power and connect to a stable Wi-Fi rather than mobile data.

6. During the update, do not turn off or restart the device to avoid corrupting the firmware.

Manual Installation

In case your locale isn't receiving the official update yet via OTA, you can download the firmware and manually flash it on your device.

Warning: Manual flashing a firmware requires some experience with fastboot tools, unlocking of the boot loader and command prompt. Inappropriate installation of the firmware may damage your device. Developers and sources are not liable for any errors which may occur. Read, research and follow the instructions to prevent damaging the device. Do this at your own risk.

1. Create a backup of all contents on your device.

2. Make sure that the battery life is at least 50 per cent.

3. Enable USB debugging mode. Go to "Settings > Applications > Development > USB debugging."

4. Download the Official Android 4.3 Jelly Bean firmware from Google's Developers Page.

5. You need to download the appropriate fastboot tools for your device.

6. Using the fastboot tools, you need to unlock the boot loader to allow installation of the firmware.
