Google to Release the Best Android Phone to Date, Moto X Phone is Android's Next Best Thing or Saving Grace?
Google is poised to release the Moto X phone sometime this week. There is much interest and hype building over the phone for two reasons: it is another Android phone and Google will be releasing it. With HTC and Samsung announcing their U.S. sales have come up short for the past quarter, the timing for Google's phone is almost impeccable.
Android sales are coming up short. Samsung did not deliver expected results. The company failed to sell as much (by Samsung standards) though other companies posting as much should be well enough. Galaxy S4 did not have a good market reception - at least based on the expectations of the analysts.
HTC is another story. The company is falling short on all accounts. Their First offering was a flop while HTC One had disappointing sales. The market is still looking for someone who can fill out this gap in sales for Android. The pressure for Android to keep its flame burning now rests on Google.
Google was one of the leaders of Android. As the project seems to be facing tough competition from other platforms on all sides, Google will take on the challenge to keep Android as the leading smart and mobile phone platform.
Their Moto X may be the answer.
Android's market share is impressive but there are also several reasons why there are people bailing out from it. Companies need to see the big picture to do something about. One reason why users may be tempted to switch to another platform is the jalopy nature of Android. The hardware and software have different sources and it can be problematic if they do not go well together.
Google is aiming at gelling the hardware and software together so it will be more like iOS. The Moto X will feature a design where the hardware and software come in tandem. There will not be any problems on dead ended upgrades and fragmentation. This can also reduce app incompatibility because of fragmentation.
Moto X will be a cohesive device offering people better control of their Android phone. Google is not planning on cutting corners but simply on making sure Android has all the necessary advantages. The market will have to find out once it is released.
