Nick Santino, an actor from television hits like 'Gossip Girl' and 'All My Children', has reportedly taken his own life after committing euthanasia to his pet dog who has been a target of anti-dog campaigners in his New York neighborhood.

According to a despondent, Santino left a suicide note which expresses his guilt over betraying the dog whom he considers as his best friend and that the pet did not deserve any of it. Santino, who was born in Brooklyn himself, adopted the dog from an animal shelter years ago.

The struggling actor in the industry valued the presence of his dog so much after reflecting he has been raised once in an orphanage himself.

However, all this happiness towards the pet changed, when 2010 came around and new rules were implemented by the building he is staying (1 Lincoln Plaza.)

Many said that the new rule is not applicable to the dogs already in the place before the strict regulations were made but Santino became harassed by many complaints from others about his pit bull.

Rocco, the pit bull of the actor, was not allowed to ride the elevator and was not also allowed to be left alone in his unit. For all the barking that his dog made, he was even charged a big a fine as $250. Many of his neighbors served as witness that Santino was truly the only one harassed by the management of the residence building.

More reports said that Santino even made his last call to an ex girlfriend at the wee hours of the morning on a Wednesday. Then the following day, he was found dead after overdosing on pills.
