Every other Hollywood starlet is entangled in a messy family drama, and Leighton Meester is no different.

Constance Meester, mother of the "Gossip Girl" actress, has dropped all charges against her daughter who she said she "sacrificed her happiness" for.

Reports say that according to Constance's camp, an oral contract legally requires Leighton to give her mother $10,000 every month.

Leighton took to court in July to have it declared that the alleged "oral agreement" does not legally exist.

"None of these agreements are valid or enforceable as a matter of law," the filing from Leighton's camp points out.

The lawsuit also states that the "Good Girls Go Bad" singer have been giving her mother $7,500 a month for the medical expenses of her brother who recently underwent brain surgery.

Constance supposedly spent the money on cosmetic surgery and various frivolities.

A few days later, Constance filed a $3 million countersuit that seeks to keep the 54-year-old mother well-provided for.

She claimed she invested around $230,000 to help her daughter pursue her Hollywood career and that Leighton agreed to give her money when she was deemed a "dependent adult" by California's Welfare and Institutions Code.

But is seems the holidays have softened the heart of this particular mother. Constance decided to withdraw the lawsuit, perhaps hoping her daughter would do the same.

As a precaution though, Leighton is not backing down from her case.

"Leighton is still seeking declaratory relief from the court, which we hope to have wrapped up in the very near future," her lawyer James Spertus tells E! Online.

Despite being in the middle of an ugly legal dispute with her mother, Leighton's career is flourishing at the moment with the hit television drama "Gossip Girl" and her music.

Unlike former co-star Taylor Momsen, who quit acting for singing, Leighton told E! Online that she could never choose between her two passions.

"Both is where it's at. If I had to choose, I think I'd be very unhappy," she revealed.
