Gossip Girl (S05E05: "Monstrous Ball") has finally ended not one - but two nuisance relationships. Viewers can only hope for some major improvements from here on. There are only four episodes left to air before the December series finale.

Spoiler alert: Skip to the "Wish List" if you have not seen the latest episode of Gossip Girl. The following recap contains spoilers.

Gossip Girl: Cotillion of the new generation

Two relationships ended and one seems on its way to a reunion - again. These and other juicy Upper East Side developments are featured in the following highlights from Gossip Girl S05E05, "Monstrous Ball."

- Everyone is gathered in this year's cotillion, and Blair tries to take advantage of the situation, even if it means conniving with her ex-BFF's mischievous stepdaughter.

- Georgina gathers that Dan is still hung up on Blair. She threatens him with a card up her sleeve, but the card later falls in the hand of a younger schemer.

- Dan submits to Vanity Fair his book's chapter on Chuck and Bart Bass.

- Ivy and Rufus are still together (and they are still the worst part of this final season).

- Chuck is still on a maddening investigation. Desperate, he turns to a professional con artist.

- Serena's sex tape finds its way to the public, thanks to Sage.

- Blair finds it absolutely ridiculous that Dan and Serena had another crazy together.

- Nate breaks up with Sage for embarrassing one of his best friends and ex-girlfriend. Finally!

- Steven breaks up with Serena. He was going to propose but his daughter's expose makes him realize he hardly knows the girl. Finally!

- Chuck once again asks Blair to wait a little longer, and she says she will.

Gossip Girl Wish List: What viewers wish to see before the series ends

1. Whatever it is that Bart is hiding from Chuck, it better be more shocking and plausible than his Lazarus episode. (See something plausible in Gossip Girl? It's a wish list, the viewers can dream.)

2. If and when Gossip Girl herself appears in the finale, may there be an interaction between her and Blair. Only the Queen B can verbally spar with the queen of gossip.
