Gossip Girl: Season Six Spoilers from Executive Producer Stephanie Savage
Gossip Girl's Season 5 finale got mixed reviews from the TV show's fans. Some hated Chuck's reaction towards Blair. Some others pointed out that Serena is backsliding instead of growing up. Other fans liked how everything came together for an exciting series finale when the show comes back for its final season.
Manhattan's elite may be on a break on television, but fans are actively looking for major scoop about the next season, which will also be the final season of the series.
So, what can the viewers expect from GG Season 6?
In an interview with Wetpaint, GG Executive Producer Stephanie Savage said The CW will announce on Thursday whether they have 10 or 11 episodes next season. Right now, the writers are working on a 10-episode final season. Here are some specifics that fans can expect from GG's last episodes:
1. The writers are making a list of things they have not yet done on the show. Season 5 saw a musical sort of thing, so the next season will offer something different for at least one episode.
2. Since Elizabeth Hurley spiced up GG in many interesting ways producers are set to get guest stars that are at least as fascinating as Hurley.
3. The characters in the final act of the Season 5 finale will be major players next season. That could mean more trouble or schemes involving Jack Bass and the very infamous Georgina Sparks.
4. Lola Rhodes may not be coming back next season. The actress playing her part, Ella Rae Peck, signed up for a pilot at an NBC show.
5. Lily Rhodes, Bart Bass and Rufus Humphrey are going to face closing issues next season. Rufus has made it clear that he wanted to save the marriage. Lily turned him down. But it couldn't be the end between them.
6. The core families will have a lot to go through in the final season. Chuck and his father definitely left a major issue hanging in the Season 5 finale.
7. Nate Archibald will pull a Sherlock Holmes to find out the identity of Gossip Girl. He may or may not succeed, depending on what GG bosses (including the decision-makers of the book series) would say.
8. Chuck Bass will either move forward with Blair Waldorf or self-sabotage next season. The finale's last act serves as a compass for the writers next season.
9. Dan Humphrey has teamed up with Georgina Sparks, and it could mean that she will be in all episodes next season. Fun!
10. Serena Van Der Woodsen will be "in a pretty precarious emotional situation" when season 6 begins. Some clues: Think of Season 1 and how it all began.
