With the premiere date nearing "Gotham" TV series has become the subject of much anticipation. In the recent sets of spoilers it has come to fore that the series would showcase Bruce Wayne's life before he became Batman. The Batman fans would get a sneak peak in the lives of Batman villains and how the latter became villains.

Ben McKenzie who plays lead role of Detective Jim Gordon said that not many know what Bruce Wayne turn into a caped crusader. The show would take a detailed look into Wayne's life as he would protect the Gotham city from the crime alongside Gordon.

"You don't know how all the people who were going to become villains who just got killed, who didn't make it. You don't know how Jim navigated the terrain to get to where he ends up as commissioner," Ben said about the series. "I think that's fascinating," as reported by Calargy Herald.

Meanwhile, the season would also show rise of Penguin and how he struggles with Fish Mooney. Though Mooney's character has not been showcased by DC comic universe but he is reportedly a part of mythology.

Robin Lord Taylor would be playing the role of Penguin and he is going to have an astonishing "journey in the pilot" as told by Taylor.

"Gotham" also star Penguin's mother. She is delusional about opulence and is old beauty with a lost charm. Her character is being played by Carol Kane.

The second episode "Selina Kyle" and would focus on the future of Catwoman. In the Sept 29 episode Detective Gordon and Bullock would investigate the child trafficking racket.

"Detectives Gordon and Bullock investigate a child trafficking ring preying on Gotham's street kids, including Selina Kyle (Camren Bicondova). Meanwhile, Penguin (Robin Lord Taylor) resurfaces in the countryside and begins to make his way back to GOTHAM," reads the official synopsis of "Gotham" episode 2.

"Gotham" is set to premiere on Sept 22, 8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX.
