'Gotham' Season 2 set to introduce "Orange County" star Melinda Clarke
While the FOX crime drama series “Gotham” is on its winter hiatus, new details about what’s to expect in the second half of Season 2 have come out. “Orange County (O.C)” star Melinda Clarke has been confirmed to be the latest addition to the cast. [Warning: Spoiler Alert]
According to E News, Clarke will be playing a character named Grace Van Dahl. She is to be introduced exclusively in the ”Gotham” TV series, and is one of the characters who did not originally appear in the DC comics or previous iterations of “Batman.”
The report describes Van Dahl as an “attractive and cultured” woman, who is “desperate for money and power.” That combination of traits will likely lead her to go to great lengths, including murder, just to get what she wants.
With a dual personality reminiscent of Theo Galavan (James Frain) and other villains that have been introduced in the series so far, Grace Van Dahl will be joining a fresh wave of enemies that detective Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie) and the rest of the GCPD have to deal with.
The second half of the season already promises the appearance of two new villains. The latest teaser gives heavy references the appearance of Mr. Freeze. Dr. Hugo strange will also be making an appearance in connection with his Indian Hill laboratory, which has already been shown in various snippets in several previous episodes.
Penguin (Robin Lord Taylor) is still in the picture and after he and Jim executed Theo Galavan in the mid-season finale, the development of the two characters’ relationship is something to watch out for.
“Gotham” Season 2 returns on Monday, Feb. 29, 2016 at 8:00 p.m. ET on FOX in the US.
