'Gotham' Season 3 Episode 9 spoilers: Barnes goes on a rampage; Ivy Pepper asks for help from Bruce and Selina in ‘The Executioner’ [Watch Trailer]

In “Gotham” Season 3 Episode 9, Barnes (Nathaniel Chiklis) will be under the influence of a psychopathic rage, which means a bloody end to anyone who crosses his path. The next episode also features the return of Gordon (Ben McKenzie), after a short hiatus.

Gordon and Bullock (Donal Logue) will start to suspect Barnes. They will go through evidence of the murder at the engagement party of Lee and Mario. In the meantime, Nygma (Cory Michael Smith) will head to Penguin (Robin Lord Taylor) after he gets no word from Isabella (Chelse Spack). Ivy will show her identity to Bruce (David Mazouz) and Selina (Camren Bicondova), but immediately brings them to trouble.

In the episode, titled “The Executioner,” Barnes will start to go made. Nygma’s relationship with Isabella will become more complicated. Carmine Falcone will throw an engagement party for Lee and Mario. Ivy Pepper will find herself in some kind of trouble and has to contact her old friend Selina and Bruce for some assistance.

In the promo video of “Gotham” Season 3 Episode 9, Benedict Samuel, who plays Jervis Tetch, explained that Captain Barnes will be infected by Alice’s blood, after a drop gets into his eye. Samuel continued that any person who gets in contact with the blood will go crazy to the extent of their own self-destruction. The following scenes showed Barnes taking justice in his own hands. He took on several men, wielding a shotgun and breaking through walls. He even hung some of them, saying that at that point, he is the law.

Gordon and Bullock will have to think quickly to find a solution to Barnes’ lethal change. It remains uncertain how Selina and Bruce can help Ivy. Apparently, the latter will manage to get out of the bind with the aid of the two, at the expense of their own security. More about Nygma and Isabella’s relationship may also be unveiled in the new episode.
