"True Blood" actor Grant Bowler has landed roles in the movies "The Killer Elite" and "The City of Gardens".

Bowler will play Capt. James Cregg in the action film "The Killer Elite" which is about the real-life efforts of a private British vigilante group set out to eliminate a band of contract killers. Also in the movie are Jason Statham, Clive Owen and Robert De Niro.

"The City of Gardens" will shoot in Peru. Set in 1980, it centers on the life of a young California surfer who gets framed and thrown to jail as a political prisoner.

Bowler will play Jesus Christ, a schezophrenic stuck in solitary confinement. John Robinson, James Remar and Deborah Unger will join Bowler in the film.

Bowler is regularly seen on ABC's "Ugly Betty" and "Lost". He will also appear on the third season of HBO's "True Blood" as Cooter, a deadly biker-turned-werewolf.
