The force of "Gravity" seems to have strengthened. Directed by acclaimed director Alfonso Cuaron, Sandra Bullock and George Clooney starrer "Gravity," has reached a $200 million mark globally within 11 days of its release. Till Oct. 4 the film had made 128.6 million at the box office. It was the weekend rush which helped the film add $6.2 million to its soaring profits.

The Sandra Bullock vehicle is estimated to rule the box office earnings for the coming few weeks. The industry experts are saying that the film will become a global phenomenon owing to its Nov., China release. China is the biggest market and has the potential to bring immense profit to the film.

The film is also the biggest bet for this year's Oscar and had won plaudits from the people worldwide. Many film critics have compared the film to Stanley Kubrik's 1968 sci-fi classic "2001: A Space Odyssey". It also being called the "best space film ever made" by the who and whose of the film industry.

Film director, Cuaron is surprised by the reception of the film. He told Globalpost.com, "We did not expect such a response. I have received calls and emails from colleagues offering praises. I understand this is coming from those whom I more or less know, but it's something else (to get calls) from old masters with whom I have no relationship and who suddenly communicate in this way,".

"I can't ask for more", the Mexican director concluded.

Gravity is a 3D sci-fi film about two astronauts who go adrift in the space. The film was premièred at the 70th Venice International Film Festival and was hailed by the critics as well as the audience.

According to Matt Zoller Seitz of RogerEbert.com, "Alfonso Cuarón's Gravity, is about astronauts coping with disaster, is a huge and technically dazzling film and that the film's panoramas of astronauts tumbling against star fields and floating through space station interiors are at once informative and lovely."
