“Gravity Rush 2” has now crossed over to another popular PlayStation 4 title in the form of a collaboration costume with the recently released “NieR: Automata.” The costume in question sees “Gravity Rush” protagonist Kat donning a skin designed after the likeness of “NieR: Automata” protagonist 2B.

The new costume DLC (downloadable content) was first revealed at the “NieR: Automata” livestream. The event was in celebration of the game hitting a milestone of shipping over one million copies. The crossover costume had been previously teased before, but this was the first time fans got a good look at the upcoming costume. There will be two iterations of the costume: one will feature 2B’s iconic visor and the other will not have this detail.

Furthermore, Kat will also have emotes that are unique to the 2B costume. The livestream also detailed how developers put in extra effort in detailing the costume, going so far as to have Kat don a beauty mark like 2B’s. This had been emphasised in the collaboration of the costume design.

Other “NieR: Automata” news has revealed DLC content in the form of new boss battles. Notably, these battles will have players go against Square Enix CEO Yosuke Matsuda and Platinum Games CEO Kenichi Sato. Both will be level 85 bosses, so players need to come prepared when facing these battles.

Though the DLC may not be an expansion of the “NieR: Automata” story, creator Yoko Taro had previously stated in a Q&A session that the video game’s development team doesn’t exactly have a budget for a story DLC. Thus, the extra content with the Square Enix and Platinum Games CEOs.

“Gravity Rush 2,” on the other hand, has already had a story expansion of its own with “The Ark of Time: Raven’s Choice.” This DLC allows players to explore a new chapter of the game that focuses on Kat’s partner, Raven, and her journey to rescue the Lost Children trapped inside the Ark, as can be remembered in the first "Gravity Rush" game.

While “NieR: Automata” is now available for the PlayStation 4 and PC, “Gravity Rush 2” is exclusively available for the PS4. The collaboration costume will be available for free on the Japanese PlayStation Store in April, though a western release date is still up in the air.
